Billy Hengen Scoring is a video based player-coach relationship program that assists forwards & defensemen in scoring more goals, harnessing an offensive mindset and ultimately winning more games. The program aims to give players a unique set of strategies and tools to become consistent offensive point getters. Coach Hengen aims to be your player's long term video coach & voice, starting with a 5 year commitment.
How Does It Work

5 Year Commitment
Players and families will commit to a 5 year process. Your family will have Coach Hengen at their disposal via the CoachNow App as well as Parent/Player/Coach text & phone call communication. The pace will be set by you.

Scoring MasterClass
Your player will participate in the Scoring Master Class designed by Coach Hengen. Players will be guided through scoring concepts and correct offensive mindsets. Your player will be shown the game through a unique offensive lens.

CoachNow Video App
The parents and players are connected with Coach Hengen via the CoachNow App. CoachNow allows families to send game shifts and clips to Hengen. Coach will annotate and VoiceOver each clip, for you to review on the App.
Your Personal Video Coach
Hockey players' private training regimes are heavily weighted towards skating, stick-handling and fitness. However, College & Professional players are adding Personal Video Coaching to their arsenal as a powerful tool for their game. An intelligent video coach maximizes a player's game performance, production and mindset.
Who is this for?
Coach Hengen currently does video work with professional players and collegiate players. As the Team MN Brick Invitational coach, Hengen also enjoys working with young talented players. As a result, the program is available to youth players, high school players, collegiate players and professional players. In recent years, Hengen has coached Division 1 Women's Hockey and High School Varsity girls hockey. This program is for the girls as much as it is for the boys.
What concepts are covered in the process?
Everything will be covered; Offensive Zone, Neutral Zone, Defensive Zone, Skating Mechanics, Shooting Mechanics, Mindset, Shift Length, Compete Level, Fundamentals, and the list goes on. Offensive puck possession and scoring will be emphasized as the underlying methodology for both forwards and defensemen.
Coach Hengen will assist in all areas of a player's game. Additionally, anything the player is doing correctly will be underscored so the player understands why they are having success. Positivity goes further with players.
What is the Scoring Master Class?
Coach Hengen has built a scoring presentation and scoring master class that teaches players how to visualize, conceptualize and verbalize offense. Players will be given a new and fresh perspective on what goal scoring is. Mindset, Rush Strategies, Game Moves, Passing Strategies and more. The Scoring Master Class serves as a foundation of offensive information to be applied to the player:coach video relationship portion of the program.

Coach Billy Hengen
Coach Hengen is passionate about offensive hockey and developing playmakers. He has experience coaching at the Brick Invitational, Heading up both Boys and Girls Varsity High School hockey programs as well as Tier 1 Boys Hockey. Hengen has experience as Division 1 Women's Assistant. He currently stands as the only Head Coach in MN to win both the Boys and Girls HS State Hockey Championships. Hengen's boys 15U & 16U teams finished ranked #1 in the USA by MyHockeyRankings.com. Additionally, Hengen continues to do video work for many of his former players who are currently playing in the NHL, AHL, PWHL or Collegiately.

The Video to Coach Process Explained
The easiest way to get a full game video to Coach Hengen is by directly emailing or texting a link to a Recorded Live Stream from a recent game. Many tournaments offer Streaming options. Many teams Stream their own games and record them online. Parents may also film a full game of their players shifts and send those to Coach Hengen as well.
High School, Collegiate and Pro Hockey Players will have a team service such as TPE, Instat or Hudl that Coach Hengen will log into.
Additionally, with our CoachNow Player/Coach relationship, you can directly upload clips from your Mobile Phone and/or Clips you cut off services such as LiveBarn.
